Course Overview:
If you are a spear fishing novice, then this course is a great way to learn the basics you need
to know about spear fishing. This course will introduce you to boat safety, spear fishing safety,
federal, state and local rules and regulations, types of spear guns, spear heads, related equipment,
and spear fishing tips and techniques.
Prerequisites:
No diver certification required. No minimum age.
Course Activities:
In class, we will discuss boat safety, spear fishing safety, federal, state and local rules and regulations,
types of spear guns, spear heads, related equipment, and spear fishing tips and techniques. Each student
will be able to load different types of guns and practice the handling of spear guns and related equipment.
- Classroom:
There is one classroom session. The classroom session will
cover each of the sections outlined above.
- Independent Study:
None Required.
- Open Water Dives:
This is a non-diving specialty.

No forms required for this course.
Materials/Equipment Required: No materials required. Recommended:
